Chapter 327:

“Shut up!” Leopard shot Monkey a glare before lunging straight for Collen, dragging both of them into a sudden, brutal fight.

Being an orphan, Collen had picked up some fighting skills to protect himself when he was young. But facing someone well-trained like Leopard, his experience barely counted for anything.

Leopard swung the rod with full force, striking Collen squarely on the back. The blow sent him crashing to the ground. Collen tried to rise, but his body refused to cooperate.

Watching him struggle, Leopard sneered, “Didn’t anyone warn you that sticking your nose in other people’s affairs can be dangerous p>

He gripped the iron rod and lifted it high, aiming to bring it down on Collen’s head.

Suddenly, a woman’s sharp voice sliced through the chaos. “Stop, or I’ll slit his throat p>

Upon hearing that, both Leopard and Collen turned toward the van.

There stood Amelia. She had one hand clamped down on Monkey’s shoulder and her other hand pressing a knife firmly against his neck.

Leopard froze, surprise flashing in his eyes, then snapped at Monkey, “Can’t you do anything right p>

“You’re blaming me? You’re the one who refused to tie her up—” Monkey shot back. He flinched as the knife pressed harder, making him shut his mouth.

The truth was, Amelia had been awake for a long time. She’d been pretending to be out cold.

Monkey, busy watching Leopard fight Collen, hadn’t noticed that she was awake. By the time he heard some noise, Amelia already had the knife at his throat.

“If you want to keep him alive, set the weapon down p>

Leopard’s hand closed around Collen’s throat, making it nearly impossible for Collen to breathe.

That move only pushed Amelia further. She dug the blade in just enough for Monkey to scream in agony.

Leopard’s initial arrogance faded, his eyes growing colder as he looked at Amelia.

Bouncing around in the back of the van had left Amelia dizzy, her head swimming, but with her life hanging in the balance, she forced herself to keep a steady mind.

“Whoever’s paying you, I’ll offer double. Let us walk away, and everyone wins. How does that sound?” Amelia said.

Leopard’s lips curled into a mocking grin. “You think fast, but I can’t agree to that p>

“Is the money I’m offering not enough? Name your price. We can work something out p>

“No matter how much you offer, I can’t let you two leave today p>

No sooner had Leopard spoken than he shoved Collen aside and lunged at Amelia.

As Leopard rushed at her, Amelia didn’t flinch. She steadied her grip, then plunged the knife deep into his shoulder. Leopard growled in pain.

Monkey used the chaos to jerk free from her hold, spinning to grab her, but Amelia’s knife found his arm and left a streak of blood in its wake.

“You’re bold, I’ll give you that. But if you don’t cooperate, I will kill him p>

While Amelia darted away, Monkey walked over to Collen, scooping up the iron rod and raising it with deadly intent.

“I dare you p>

“Just watch me— wait, have you lost your mind p>

Neither Monkey nor Leopard had expected Amelia to lift the bloodied knife to her own throat, pressing the tip against her skin. Both men froze in shock, unable to process what they were seeing.

Survivors of countless dangers, they’d never turned their blades toward themselves before. Yet here Amelia was, ready to cut her own throat, blood already seeping.

Their stunned silence told Amelia she’d made the right move. They needed her alive.

Amelia’s voice turned icy. “You’re after me, not him. Let him go, and I’ll leave with you p>

The moment she finished, Collen’s phone began to ring.

He tried to grab it, but Monkey smashed the phone beneath his heel, leaving it in pieces.

Out on the westbound highway, Barrie passed a handful of nails to Wyatt, worry etched on his face. “I found these on the road. Whoever took Mrs. Stewart probably dropped them. I can’t say for sure if Collen is still following the van or not p>

“I am unable to reach Collen anymore p>

Just then, Zainab hurried over, her expression tense.

At her words, Barrie cast a quick look at Wyatt, whose face had turned cold. Wyatt studied the tangled mess of tire marks scattered across the pavement, then shifted his attention to a narrow path leading in the opposite direction.

The west side of the city had four separate intersections, and Hiram and Davin had already sent teams to each one, coming up empty-handed.

They had pinned their hopes on learning Amelia’s whereabouts from Collen, but that lead was now gone as well.

Still, the scattered nails gave them something to go on.

Barrie couldn’t figure out why Wyatt insisted this narrow path was the right way, but he wasn’t about to question it. Without hesitation, he started the engine.

“Mr. Stewart, there’s blood on the ground over there p>
