Chapter 435
Chapter 435:
Wyatt seized the bag tightly with one hand while drawing a dagger swiftly with the other.
As the black eagle plunged toward him, he tightened his grip on the dagger and thrust it mercilessly into its last functioning eye.
The eagle’s agonized cry made Wyatt’s ears throb, but during its wild struggle he wrenched the blade loose and swiftly rolled into the sheltering cover nearby.
Robbed of sight, the black eagle shrieked in maddened fury, its colossal wings thrashing with destructive force, demolishing everything within reach.
Everyone stilled their breath, pressed flat against the ground among the trees, not daring to let the slightest noise escape.

The eagle raged through the forest in chaotic circles for more than an hour before eventually soaring away.
Late at night, Hillside Villa.
“Wyatt p>
“Amelia, what’s the matter?” Carlee flicked on the bedside lamp at once, startled to see Amelia soaked in sweat, her skin ghastly pale. “I’ll go get Gabby here p>
Terrified by Amelia’s condition, Carlee darted barefoot toward the door, but Amelia clutched her wrist firmly before she could leave. Holding Carlee’s wrist with one of hers and pressing the other against her chest, Amelia struggled desperately to calm her breath.
For reasons she couldn’t explain, a crushing wave of fear had overtaken her.
In her dream just now, she had seen Wyatt drenched in blood…
“Carlee, I need to go to Ekuoledo right now,” she said.
Carlee gaped at her in shock. “You mean it p>
Instead of replying, Amelia narrated the harrowing dream.
By the time she concluded, her already ashen face looked even paler.
Without hesitation, Carlee declared, “I’ll book the flight tickets this instant p>
She stuffed their belongings into bags with astonishing speed, but as she and Amelia rushed downstairs, Gabby — awakened by the commotion — stepped in their way.
Once she heard Amelia’s plan, Gabby’s delicate face twisted in protest. “Amelia, you’re far too weak to endure such a long journey now p>
“Gabby, I must go there p>
Despite Gabby’s repeated objections, Amelia would not yield.
Seeing her determination, Gabby reluctantly packed her own things and joined them in the car, worried about Amelia’s health.
As the car hurtled along the highway, Gabby cast anxious glances at Carlee behind the wheel. “Slow down p>
“If I slow down, we’ll miss the flight p>
Carlee had secured the earliest possible flight, scheduled in only thirty minutes. Yet Hillside Villa lay forty minutes from the airport. Knowing this, Carlee pressed harder on the accelerator.
Luckily, the highway lay nearly deserted at such an hour. Otherwise, her reckless pace would have surely earned her a stern confrontation with the traffic officers.
In the backseat, Amelia gripped her phone so tightly that her knuckles blanched. Since entering the car, she had been calling Wyatt repeatedly, but his line remained dead.
