Chapter 472
Chapter 472:
As soon as Amelia stepped out of the examination room, Shepard and Weldon, who had been waiting anxiously nearby, walked over, their faces tight with worry.
“Is everything alright? Are the babies safe?” Shepard asked the doctor.
“No need to worry, Mr. Chadwick. Your sister is perfectly fine. The discomfort in her stomach is most likely due to skipping breakfast,” the doctor reassured him.
Relieved, Shepard and Weldon both let out long breaths, their tension finally easing.
“You stay here with Amelia. I’ll get her something to eat,” Shepard said to Weldon, then hurried out of the hospital waiting area.
A few minutes later, Shepard came back slightly out of breath and pushed open the door to the lounge.
Weldon, spotting the number of bags hanging from his hands, joked, “Shepard, did you buy out the whole restaurant p>
Ignoring him, Shepard turned to Amelia. “I wasn’t sure what you’d be in the mood for, so I got a bit of everything. Take a look and choose whatever you like p>

As he spoke, he laid out an assortment of breakfast items across the table in front of her.
Amelia wasn’t particularly hungry, but seeing Shepard’s hopeful expression, she picked up a bowl of oatmeal.
Feeling a little self-conscious under both Shepard’s and Weldon’s watch, she said, “There’s too much for just me. Why don’t you both eat with me p>
“Perfect. I’m starving,” Weldon said, immediately grabbing a hot pastry. He took a bite and winced at once, fanning his mouth as the steaming filling burned his tongue.
Amelia burst into laughter at Weldon’s dramatic reaction.
Then she turned to Shepard, who was still standing, and asked, “Aren’t you going to eat, Shepard p>
The moment the words left her mouth, she realized she had called him by his first name.
Shepard, usually so composed as the Chadwick family’s heir, lit up with unrestrained joy. “Amelia, what did you just call me p>
His face glowed with the excitement of a child opening a long-awaited gift.
Amelia’s heart softened. The Chadwick brothers had been nothing but kind to her, and without even realizing it, she had started to accept them as her brothers.
That was why she had felt comfortable enough to call Shepard by his first name.
Seeing how happy he was, she smiled and repeated softly, “Shepard p>
Shepard’s grin widened. He realized he hadn’t imagined it.
“What about me? Amelia, call me by my first name too,” Weldon jumped in, his voice full of eager expectation.
Noticing the hopeful spark in Weldon’s eyes, Amelia answered naturally, “Weldon p>
Her willingness to accept the Chadwick brothers came not only from how genuinely they treated her, but also because they were innocent in all of this. On the drive over, Amelia had braced herself, expecting Shepard and Weldon to bring up Weston and try to persuade her to reconcile with him.
