Chapter 503
Chapter 503:
At that moment, Amelia caught the echo of breaking glass, and immediately afterward, a hand seized hers with force.
Sensing the familiar heat at her fingertips, Amelia instinctively lifted her gaze.
Wyatt had just climbed to the third floor when he spotted through the window that Amelia was plunging downward. Without a pause, he smashed through the glass and grabbed her tightly.
From Amelia’s view, the fear in his eyes was unmistakable.
Wyatt had driven his fist through the windowpane, blood spilling from his arm pressed against the sill while fragments of shattered glass scattered everywhere. Amelia could even notice the crimson smears across the jagged surface.

“Wyatt p>
“Don’t be afraid; cling to me p>
As the words left him, Wyatt tightened his grip. With that motion, fresh blood streamed from the torn skin of his hand, falling onto Amelia’s face.
Clutching Wyatt with one hand and Dayna with the other, Amelia was unable to wipe the blood from her skin.
Dayna, dangling, fixed her eyes on the hand that held her, emotions tangled within her stare. She had never dreamed Amelia would stretch out a hand to save her.
“You… why would you p>
“Shut up p>
The instant Dayna uttered a word, Amelia quelled her with a frozen glare.
Although she despised Dayna, Amelia never wished for her death. She believed the law would ultimately punish Dayna for her crimes.
Weldon, balanced on the rope ladder, reached the nearest window and climbed inside. By the time he gained the third floor, Wyatt was drenched with sweat. The veins on his arm stood out, and cuts from the glass poured blood; he was nearly spent.
Weldon darted to his side, desperate to assist yet uncertain where to begin.
Meanwhile, Nora had reached a second-floor window and grabbed Dayna.
When Amelia released her grip on Dayna’s hand, Weldon instantly extended his. “Amelia, take my hand p>
“Mr. and Mrs. Stewart, are you alright p>
Just as Weldon drew Amelia up, Davin, Barrie, and the others arrived.
Collapsed on the floor in exhaustion, Weldon heard Davin’s voice and said, “You are too late. Lucky for us, we didn’t rely on you to save us. Otherwise, we’d be corpses by now p>
No sooner had he spoken than sirens of police cars blared from the street below.
Dayna, Colden, and the guards were all captured, though Kylo remained missing.
Knowing his bank account had exposed Amelia’s whereabouts, Colden cursed himself in regret.
When Dayna was escorted away by the police, she was composed. She even felt a bit relieved. Yet as she was guided toward the patrol car, her eyes strayed to Amelia, who was in Wyatt’s arms and didn’t look back.
Inside the vehicle, Marc carried out a complete examination of Amelia. Only once assured that Amelia was uninjured did Wyatt finally exhale.
Wyatt’s hand could not be treated during the ride, as countless tiny shards were buried in the flesh. Once inside Marc’s office, he began attending to Wyatt’s wounds.
The larger pieces of glass came out easily, but the minute fragments required tweezers to pick from the torn skin.
Watching Wyatt’s complexion grow pale, Amelia asked anxiously, “Can’t you apply an anesthetic p>
“It’s merely a small injury. Anesthetic isn’t needed p>
Amelia’s focus never left Wyatt, missing the look Marc threw him — an unspoken hint saying, “This is the best I can do to help you p>
After tending to Wyatt’s wounds, Marc departed the room.
As soon as he stepped out, Wyatt clasped Amelia’s hand. “Forgive me. From this moment, whatever occurs, I’ll tell you everything p>
Wyatt had reflected deeply before grasping the reason for Amelia’s anger toward him.
It had never been about his connection with Nora, which Amelia knew was nothing inappropriate. She was upset because Wyatt hadn’t confided in her about his troubles.
Amelia’s anger at Wyatt had long faded, yet hearing his words still filled her eyes with tears. Seeing this, Wyatt quickly embraced her.
Amelia reflexively resisted but stopped when his pained groan reached her.
The two finally reconciled.
The following morning.
Amelia remained asleep when a knock stirred her awake. If it had been anyone else, Barrie would have turned them down, but the visitor was Darwin Hilton, the chief of police.
Darwin had been awake the entire night, orchestrating a joint operation against Kylo’s hidden casino. Even after deploying every available unit, he failed to capture Kylo.
At last, he thought of Dayna.
When confronted with his questioning, Dayna proposed a condition — she wanted to see Amelia.
