Watching her flounder, Weldon turned toward Amelia with a pleading glance. “Amelia, could you help us out here p>

Weldon’s injury from shielding Nora had left him bedridden, and Nora often stopped by to look after him. Only a moment earlier, Nora had handed Weldon a glass of water, and a lock of her hair had snagged on one of his shirt buttons by accident. That was why she was in such a position.

With one arm trapped in a cast, Weldon couldn’t free her, and Nora’s own attempts were useless.

Amelia walked over and carefully untangled Nora’s strands. Once freed, Nora straightened and greeted Shepard and Weston with an awkward smile.

Sensing the family needed space, Nora excused herself right after some pleasantries.

“That woman who just left — who is she to you? How far have things gone between you two, and when are you planning to marry her?” Weston asked, his tone full of curiosity.

“Friends? Please. I know you better than anyone.” Shepard rolled his eyes and interjected, “If you didn’t like her, you wouldn’t have looked at her that way earlier p>
