Chapter 576
Chapter 576:
Noticing a vehicle stationed by the gate, Wyatt issued a stern command to Vincent.
Glaring at Wyatt with narrowed eyes, Vincent snapped,
“I’ve released your woman. Let my sister go now p>
Wyatt responded coolly,
“She will be let go when the moment is right. Stop wasting time and give me the car keys p>
Undeterred by Vincent’s icy stare, Wyatt reiterated his demand, edging the blade closer to Wendy’s throat.
Fresh blood oozed from her barely closed wound.
Vincent’s heart raced at the sight, and unwilling to jeopardize his sister’s safety, he swiftly directed someone to fetch the keys.
When Vincent held out the keys, Wyatt didn’t approach him; instead, he gestured for Vincent to throw them over.
As the keys landed near their feet, Amelia stepped forward to retrieve them.
At Wyatt’s cue, she slid into the driver’s seat and started the engine.

After ensuring nothing was off with the car, she gave Wyatt a nod.
Wyatt quickly ushered Wendy into the back seat with him, and the moment the car door closed, Amelia floored the accelerator, speeding away.
“Boss, what should we do now?” Buzz asked.
“What are you standing around for? Go after them!” Vincent roared.
Buzz and the others hurriedly jumped into their vehicles and pursued.
As the car Amelia was driving merged onto the main road, she glanced in the rearview mirror and saw several cars tailing behind.
Without a second thought, she pressed the gas pedal harder.
At a crossroads, Wyatt abruptly instructed,
“Amelia, take that side street p>
Trusting his instincts, Amelia swerved off the highway onto a narrow road.
Moments later, she spotted multiple vehicles parked on the main road through the rearview mirror, looking suspicious.
It dawned on her that they likely belonged to Vincent’s men.
Sure enough, shortly after she veered onto the side street, those cars roared to life and followed.
Soon, Amelia was being pursued by about eight vehicles.
Luckily, the rugged, one-way path prevented Vincent’s men from overtaking.
After speeding along the route for over thirty minutes, Amelia realized it led into a thick forest, leaving them with no further escape.
Vincent, still in pursuit, grinned smugly at the forest’s edge.
“Nowhere left to run!” he taunted.
Just then, he saw the back door of the car Amelia was driving swing open.
“What are you doing?” Wendy shrieked in terror as Wyatt flung open the car door.
Without a word, he shoved her out, and before she could process it, she tumbled onto the road.
Her piercing cry reverberated as she struck the ground.
Vincent, seeing her fall, slammed on the brakes, avoiding hitting his sister.
Though his reaction was swift, the vehicles trailing him weren’t ready for the abrupt halt, crashing into each other in a deafening clash of metal.
Wyatt’s gaze hardened with determination when he heard the chaos behind.
“Amelia, stop the car and get out now,” he urged.
Clasping her hand firmly, he soon bolted toward the dense forest ahead with her.
Vincent rushed to Wendy’s side, and as he glimpsed the two figures escaping, he bellowed to his men,
“Go after them p>
But his command was only met with pained moans from his people.
Wanting to pursue them himself, he was stopped when Wendy clutched his sleeve, sobbing,
“Vincent, my leg hurts. Please, get me to a hospital p>
Blood streaked her face, and her left shin felt as though it had been crushed.
Vincent gently lifted her from the ground.
As he carried her, Wendy’s shin pulsed with excruciating pain, drawing another scream from her.
Worried, Vincent quickly settled her into his car.
Before speeding off, he fixed Buzz with a grim stare and said,
“I’m taking her to the hospital. Buzz, you keep hunting those two down. Don’t let them escape p>
It was three in the morning, the dim light casting eerie shadows in the forest.
Earlier, Buzz could track Wyatt—
And Amelia using the car’s headlights, but after they vanished into the forest, they disappeared completely, rendering the pursuit nearly futile.
Still, Buzz couldn’t defy Vincent’s orders. Despite his own injuries, he braced himself and led his men into the woods.
In the pitch-dark forest, Wyatt navigated purely by instinct.
Luck was on his side as he stumbled upon a narrow trail.
Gripping Amelia’s hand tightly and clutching the small blade he had taken from Wendy, he shielded Amelia with care.
Noticing her labored breaths, he stopped abruptly, concern in his voice.
“Are you too worn out to keep going p>
Amelia was indeed exhausted, but the situation demanded she press on. So, she shook her head.
“I’m okay. Let’s keep going p>
“Hop on my back; I’ll carry you.” Wyatt knelt before her as he spoke.
Detecting the intensifying smell of blood from Wyatt, Amelia realized his condition was far worse than he admitted.
She didn’t want to weigh him down further, but before she could object, the sound of approaching footsteps echoed from behind them.
