After settling onto a thick branch, he bent down and extended his hand toward Amelia.

Without the slightest pause, Amelia clasped his hand firmly.

A moment later, he drew her up until she was at his side.

They had only just steadied themselves when figures suddenly emerged in the distance.

Leading the group was none other than Buzz.

“Buzz, there’s a cabin here p>

“Go inside and search it p>

At Buzz’s command, a man strode ahead and kicked the cabin door wide open.

Inside, nothing waited for them.

Buzz frowned deeply.

“Strange. It feels as if they vanished into thin air. We’ve been looking for them all night and still haven’t uncovered a single trace p>

High above the cabin, Amelia stayed perfectly still on the tree, holding her breath to avoid the slightest sound.

Several tense minutes passed before Buzz and his men finally walked away.

As their figures faded into the distance, Amelia leaned close to Wyatt and whispered,

“Do you think it’s safe to climb down now p>

“Not yet. We’ll give it a little more time,” Wyatt replied, his tone edged with caution.

When their feet touched the ground safely, Wyatt guided Amelia in the opposite direction.

Shepard stood motionless outside the room Amelia shared with Wyatt.
