Kyson’s eyes flickered as he started the car. “I mean it. You heard him yourself — there’s going to be some cooperation between our companies. If I’m the client, he has no reason to make things difficult for me p>
“That makes sense,” Kailey responded, her thoughts drifting as she fell quiet, turning everything over in her mind.

If Ryan only thought of Kailey as his niece, Kyson could have accepted him as family. But Kyson had seen the way Ryan looked at her — there was nothing familial in that gaze. Later, back at the villa, Karol’s eyes glimmered with happiness when she heard the registration was done. “That’s wonderful news! If your grandfather and parents were here, they’d be ecstatic. Have you told them yet p>

“That’s all right — I’ll call them now,” Karol replied, already patting her pockets for her phone, excitement making her hands fumble.
Watching her, Kailey couldn’t help but smile. She let out a quiet sigh. “I’m heading upstairs for a shower. I still need to get to the office this afternoon p>
Kyson watched her go with a trace of frustration. Other women would be eager to celebrate a marriage certificate, but not Kailey. She was steady, her focus always fixed on her own growth and her work.
“Alright,” he said quietly, almost hoping she’d turn back — but Kailey was already absorbed in her phone, making her way upstairs without a pause.
She really was in a hurry. The design department had become a pressure cooker, churning out new products at relentless speed. Some concepts couldn’t even be rendered on a computer — she had to sketch them by hand, which took extra time and energy.
After her shower, Kailey checked her phone. Her notifications had exploded since the engagement post, her inbox overflowing. She steadied herself and began sifting through the most important ones.
