Devin responded without hesitation. “Understood, Mr. Blake. I’ll make sure Miss Evans stays safe this time.” After Kyson checked on the progress of the ongoing investigation, he ended the call. He stared at his recent calls for a moment, then typed a message to an unfamiliar number.
After what had happened the day before, Kailey felt as though she had brushed past real danger, and even her colleagues seemed unusually pleasant. Zaria stood out the most. All morning, she kept bringing Kailey treats — first baked snacks she had made herself, then fresh juice she claimed was good for recovery. Some of Kailey’s simpler duties were quietly reassigned to others under the excuse that she needed rest and creative renewal, though it felt more like she had been gently pushed aside.

Forget whether your fiancé would complain — I’m worried too. I don’t want him showing up angry and accusing us of overworking you. That would be troublesome p>
