When she stepped out of the office, she nearly walked straight into Candice. The woman’s gaze carried a trace of hostility — rumors had already linked her to Kyson. Linda forced a polite smile. Candice offered none in return and continued staring in a way that made her uncomfortable.
They walked past each other. Once Linda was far enough away, she muttered a few quiet curses under her breath.
