She immediately signaled the driver to bring in her luggage. She needed to act fast, before her stubborn son tried again.

When she opened the box, her breath caught.
Inside lay an emerald bracelet of astonishing clarity — a deep, flawless green without the slightest imperfection. She vaguely remembered it. A famous auction house had showcased it years ago, where it was purchased anonymously for a staggering price. She never imagined it had belonged to Irene.
