Kailey turned her head, and the person standing there caught her off guard. It was Olivia.
Olivia dismissed the sales assistant with a flick of her hand and walked straight toward Kailey. Her eyes were cold, her expression carrying open disdain. “So you weren’t joking about getting married? Don’t you have feelings for Ryan anymore p>
She stepped closer and lowered her voice. “Or are you just doing this to get him to notice you again p>
That was the only explanation Olivia could accept. Ryan had disappeared for weeks without a single message to her. Then, only a few days ago — right after he contacted Kailey — he had suddenly reached out. There was no way that was a coincidence.
Kailey looked back at her without any sign of emotion. “I don’t need his attention, and I don’t owe you any explanation. Think whatever you want.” She moved to leave, but Olivia caught her wrist without warning.
The calm she had shown earlier was gone. “I don’t believe you,” she retorted. “You cared about him more than anyone. How can you suddenly stop? You’re planning something, aren’t you? It no longer sounded like an accusation — more like she was trying to convince herself. “Kailey, are you lying again with that innocent look? You couldn’t fool your uncle before, so who are you trying to trick now? Where is he p>
That was enough. Kailey pulled her arm back with force. “If something’s wrong with you, go find someone who can help. Don’t dump it on me p>
She hadn’t felt anger like this in a long time. What had been building quietly inside her finally broke through.
