Once the call ended, she reached up and brushed her cheek, which still felt warm from the conversation. She slipped her phone into her jeans pocket and headed to the sink to rinse her face.
By the time she stepped back into the living room, everyone had already begun eating, and the table was filled with dishes. As soon as she appeared, the two bodyguards rose from their seats.
