“Zenith Group again?” Kailey slipped her phone back into her pocket and let out a quiet breath. “It feels like we’ve been stirring up trouble with them nonstop p>
When she didn’t hear him respond, she looked up and saw that his mind had wandered somewhere else. “Kyson p>
“Hmm?” He focused on her again and brushed his fingers through her hair. “I don’t know him on a personal level. But if he’s seeing Zaria, she should be careful p>
Kailey nodded. “That’s what I was thinking too. I’ll tell her how I feel, and after that, it’s her decision p>
Later, once she returned to her room, she repeated his words to Zaria over the phone.
“And honestly, this wasn’t even your first dinner with him, and he still couldn’t remember that you don’t eat ginger.” Either he didn’t pay attention, or he simply didn’t care enough to try.
Zaria fell silent for a moment before speaking. “Kailey, not everyone is lucky enough to meet someone like Mr. Blake. It might sound harsh, but it’s true. You met the right man at the right time, so everything feels bright to you. Most men aren’t like that. They get bored. They look for something new. They lose interest once the excitement fades. The ones with strong principles stay loyal, but if a man doesn’t have that kind of character, nothing stops him. I know Gregg isn’t serious about me — I’m not naive. “Do you think I’m cheap?” Zaria asked into the silence. “Kailey, you really don’t understand how lucky you are. You’re young. You’re talented. Your family supports you. Even if Mr. Blake wasn’t in the picture, you’d still have a future ahead of you. I don’t have that. No matter how hard I push myself, I barely move forward. If I don’t hold on to someone with influence, I’ll end up spending my life in some rundown apartment p>
