The very next morning, Benny received an official appointment letter from Blake Group.
He stared at it as if he’d read it wrong. “Security? You’re assigning me to security? I graduated from a top university, and now you want me guarding the entrance?” He flung the letter onto the table. “I’m not doing it p>

Benny snapped his head toward him, waiting.
Devin’s smile didn’t shift. “However, Mr. Blake did say that if you don’t report today, your access will be revoked. Not just to the company — to all Blake Group properties p>
Benny’s jaw tightened. Kyson was clearly targeting him. Was this revenge? Then it dawned on him — Kailey must have said something.
Benny shut his eyes briefly and exhaled through his nose. She looked harmless, but she was ruthless.
“Mr. Shaw?” Devin prompted politely. “You have forty minutes before your shift begins. What’s your decision p>
“Fine.” Benny grabbed the letter back with a dark look. “Let’s go p>
Devin stepped aside with a courteous smile. “I have other matters to attend to. You’ll need to head over on your own p>
Benny blinked in disbelief.
Kailey found out about Benny’s new position before noon. She laughed when she read the message on her phone. Some people really do get what they deserve.
Someone like Benny needed someone like Kyson to rein him in.
Around lunchtime, she decided to see it for herself. After buying takeout from a nearby restaurant, Kailey drove to the Blake Group headquarters.
Even from a distance, she noticed something strange near the entrance. An old-style armchair sat right by the doors, completely out of place against the sleek glass building. She had no idea where he’d gotten it.
Benny lounged in it without a care. A men’s magazine covered his face, and the model’s long legs on the cover conveniently blocked him from view.
Kailey stood off to the side and watched him for a moment. Amused, she lifted her phone and snapped a quick photo before walking over.
As if he sensed someone staring, Benny lowered the magazine just as she reached him. Their eyes met, and both of them paused in surprise.
Benny straightened in the chair. The security uniform didn’t quite fit him, yet somehow it only made him look more unruly. “What are you doing here p>
“I’m not here for you, so why does it matter?” Kailey lifted her chin.
