Devin didn’t know what she was after, but he stayed alert. This woman wasn’t harmless, and he wasn’t about to let her near Kyson. So one pushed forward while the other held his ground, her heels striking the pavement in sharp, rapid taps — almost rhythmic.

Slightly out of breath, Jessica shot Devin a smug look before turning toward the car. “I’m Kailey’s friend. I can’t stand watching her suffer. She’s hurting right now, and you’re out here acting like nothing’s wrong. You’re a disgrace as a husband. Get out of the car p>
Kailey’s name cut through the air.
Kyson lifted his head at once. His gaze darkened. He opened the door and stepped out, his stride steady and unhurried.
Jessica froze despite herself. She had seen plenty of good-looking men, yet his presence still caught her off guard. She quickly shook it off.
“Have you seen Kailey?” he asked.
His voice was low and unexpectedly calm. No wonder that girl had fallen so hard.
