“Mr. Blake,” Bruno said respectfully from the other end. “Mr. Owen is demanding an explanation. He wants to know why you chose Owen Group for cooperation. He seems to have caught on to something, especially since we already had an agreement with another partner p>
The sudden change of plans, paired with how quickly the contract with Owen Group had been signed, made the situation impossible to overlook. Anyone with a sharp mind would suspect there was more going on — and Ryan was sharp enough to notice.
With a quiet laugh, Kyson replied, “He is perceptive. But even if he figures it out, what does it matter? The contract is already signed. He cannot undo it p>

Ending the call, Kyson turned the phone slowly in his hand and gazed out the window. From where he stood, most of the yard came into view. Since Karol had been staying with them, the place felt unusually tidy. Light from the living room spilled outward, breaking into scattered shadows across the ground. When spring arrived, those same spots would be filled with blooming flowers.
A faint smile formed as Kyson lifted his phone and placed another call.

“When will the diamond I asked for be ready p>
After a brief pause, the person on the line let out a long sigh. “It takes time. That pink diamond is still overseas, but you have my word that it will not interfere with your proposal schedule p>
Morning came, and instead of heading straight downstairs, Kailey stopped outside Dagmar’s door and listened closely for any movement. The argument from the day before had been harsh, and she could not help wondering whether Dagmar had managed to accept it.
Just as Kailey debated knocking, the door flew open from the inside.
“What are you doing lurking here? Trying to steal my stuff?” Dagmar asked.
