When the call ended, she stared at her phone for a long moment, only snapping out of it when Karol came over to clear the dishes.
“Was that Kyson on the phone?” she asked.
“Yeah.” Kailey got up from the chair. “Karol, let me help you with that p>
Karol’s eyes shifted around, clearly deep in thought, but she didn’t object. “How have you been managing meals while I was away? The fridge is empty. Didn’t Kyson cook anything for you p>
With a light laugh, Kailey replied, “Of course he cooked. You know I don’t cook p>

Kailey helped carry the plates to the kitchen before heading upstairs. Karol watched until she vanished from sight, then quickly pulled out her phone and made a quiet call. “It’s me. Yes, I’m back now. From what I’ve seen, the young couple seems to be getting along well. Looks like we won’t need it for now. I’ll keep an eye on things a little longer.” A pause. “I promise there are absolutely no side effects, but it’s my first time trying something like this. I’m just worried about getting the dose right p>
