“Hello, I’m Gregg Molina,” he said courteously. Kailey offered a small nod in return.

Once the menus were taken away, he began asking Zaria about what she had been working on lately. Kailey’s phone buzzed — since she wasn’t the focus today, she started chatting with Kyson.
“Ms. Evans, are you tied up with work?” Gregg suddenly asked.
Surprise flickered across Kailey’s face. She locked her screen and glanced at Zaria, who raised an eyebrow as if to prompt her response. “No. I’m chatting with my husband,” Kailey replied with a polite smile. “I hope you don’t mind p>

“She and her husband can’t stand being apart,” Zaria said lightly. “That’s what happens when you marry early p>
The atmosphere loosened with her joke, and conversation drifted on until the waiter arrived carrying their plates.
Grace marked Gregg’s movements as he slid one of the dishes toward Zaria, keeping his polite smile. Kailey subtly frowned at the ginger in it and glanced sideways. Color drained from Zaria’s face, yet she forced herself to stay composed.
