Chapter 555:
The silver Maybach sped off at once and passed Candice with only inches to spare.
Candice didn’t move. She closed her eyes for a brief moment, and a vein throbbed at her temple.
She understood Kyson better than anyone. He had always disliked her, and with everything weighing on him lately, he might even want her gone for good. Even so, she didn’t care. To her, men were like sealed books — no judgment could be made until every page had been read.
Candice stayed where she was a little longer, unaware that Kailey was still nearby. Then she got into her own car and drove away.

Under the dim night lights, Kailey’s face looked drained of color. Her pale cheeks made her seem fragile, as if she might break at any moment.

She went upstairs and stepped into her room. Her dress slid down to the floor.
She had planned to shower, but she stopped in front of the wardrobe when a thought crossed her mind. Lowering herself to the floor, she reached into a narrow gap and pulled out a phone. It belonged to Kyson.
Lyman had installed a signal jammer in the house, which made it useless. The device hadn’t been touched for days and was still on.
Kailey unlocked the screen and scrolled without much thought. Her gaze paused on the photo album for a couple of seconds. Then she tapped it open.
Inside were two screenshots related to work, and nothing seemed out of place. There was one folder, however, that required a password.
She hesitated before entering a series of numbers.
The folder opened.
One photo appeared after another, filling the screen and taking her breath away. The images were arranged closely together — some captured her in casual moments, others showed her asleep without her knowing. She had never expected Kyson to have such skill behind a camera. Looking at herself through his lens felt deeply personal, almost too intimate to bear.
Kailey scrolled through every single picture from beginning to end, only stopping when the phone shut off as the battery drained. A slow breath left her lips.
What was Kyson trying to do? What truth had he been keeping from her?
Still, she had to admit something. Those photos had lightened the pressure in her chest, even if only by a small amount.
At least she understood this much now — there was no point in drowning in guesses. What truly mattered was finding out what Lyman and Candice were really after.
The next morning, Kailey finished breakfast and made up an excuse to head out. She had expected someone to block her path. To her surprise, the bodyguards agreed without hesitation.
