Hearing his approach, the woman sitting on the couch instinctively straightened her posture.
The living room was far from spotless, but the obvious mess had been gathered into the trash, leaving behind only a few crumbs from snacks. Dagmar did not move, though she followed Kyson’s every action from the corner of her eye.
She had already cleaned up. What else did he expect from her? Was he still planning to throw her out? If that happened, she would absolutely complain to Kailey.
Catching the shift in her expression, Kyson let out a quiet laugh but did not comment. He simply changed his shoes and walked out the door.
The drive from home to Fantasy Fusion stretched nearly twenty kilometers. Along the way, he played music, stopped to buy flowers and cake, and then headed off to pick up the person he cared about most.
Even though Kailey always claimed work came first, she was never slow about leaving once the day ended. When the clock hit six, she was among the first to clock out.

Seeing him waiting there after work had already felt like a pleasant surprise, and the flowers and cake in the car made it even better. By coincidence, she happened to be wearing a white dress with a pink cardigan that day, which matched the roses perfectly. Unable to help herself, she lifted the bouquet again and again to breathe in their scent.
