Before she could fully react, Kailey found herself sitting on the couch while Kyson calmly picked up her suitcase. One by one, he took out her clothes and arranged them carefully, placing each item in the closet with quiet patience. From one bag, he pulled out socks. From another, more personal items.

Before she could finish, her foot caught on something beneath her. She pitched forward without warning and collided straight into him. Kyson moved quickly, one arm circling her waist as he shifted his balance. With a smooth turn, he absorbed the fall.
They dropped onto the couch together, her body landing against his, the impact soft but close. The space between them felt different now—warmer, heavier.

Since Kyson had said there was no need to hurry back, Kailey relaxed and decided to stay a few more days to keep Aleena and Shirley company.
