From there, she hurried to the window, easing the curtain open just enough to peer outside.
Even from a quick glance, several bodyguards were already stationed in the yard — and without a doubt, more were guarding the entrance.
No matter how many angles she considered, escape still felt like a laughably slim possibility. Kailey pressed her teeth into her lower lip, then let her hand fall with a quiet sigh of defeat, deciding she would have to improvise when the moment came.
